Confirmed by the Palace today: Zara Phillips, the Queen’s granddaughter, and her rugby international fiance Mike Tindall will be married at the Canongate Kirk, Edinburgh, on July 30. Speculation has been ongoing since January as to the date and venue of the wedding.

The reception will be held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse following the ceremony.  Iain Balshaw, England rugby World Cup winner, has been asked to take on best man duties.

It is the second Royal Wedding of the year following on from the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29.

What of the couple’s wedding preparations?

Recent reports say Princess Anne, Zara’s mum, asked Mike Tindall to fix his nose prior to the wedding.  The rugby ace has broken his nose 8 times during his career.  However, having undergone corrective nasal surgery in the past, Mike refuses to go under the knife again.

Meanwhile, Zara Phillips has recently chopped off her locks to showcase a shorter bob style.
