As usual, conflicting stories about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s plan for the holiday season…  Take everything with a grain of salt. Last month, The Mirror said Kate will spend Christmas Day at Sandringham. Now here’s another of Katie Nicholl’s vacation stories…

William and Kate are said to be planning a week-long festive holiday after William spends Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham.

‘They can’t decide whether they want snow or sun,’ said a friend.  ‘They are leaning towards a skiing holiday because they haven’t been to Switzerland for a while and Kate loves giving William a run for his money on the slopes.’

The Prince will be training to fly helicopters at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire until mid-December.

Meanwhile, elaborate plans for a holiday season romantic break for William and girlfriend Kate Middleton seem to have hit a hitch.
It’s all down to cost. Her Majesty The Queen, known to William simply as mother, is keen to show a united front with her subjects as they face Britain’s longest and deepest recession in decades. Queen Elizabeth II deems world travel for leisure, which, for the royals also incurs huge tax-payer costs for security, “unnecessary”.

Prince William may understand why his vacation plans have been thrown out the window, but now he has to break the news to Kate.

In short, everyone is simply second guessing.  Katie Nicholl probably guessed Switzerland because Carole Middleton recently won a ski trip during the Starlight auction.  And Neil Sean is simply rehashing other stories.  We’ll probably never know unless we see airport pictures.  And unless they publicly announce an engagement this year (very unlikely), I doubt Kate will spend Christmas at Sandringham.  She may very well go off somewhere with her family as she has done in the past years.
