Prince Harry is Set for New York (Again)

After his joint African tour with William, Prince Harry is heading to New York…

Prince Harry is to visit New York for the 2nd straight year this June. This time, it’s on a mission to improve treatment for British and American troops wounded in Afghanistan. He will visit military and veterans’ organisations on a fact-finding tour designed to explore how UK and US charities can work together and learn from each other to help severely wounded servicemen and women.

A senior aide said the Prince, who served in Afghanistan as a forward air controller two years ago, will be accompanied on his visit by two British officers representing veterans’ organisations and wants to act as a facilitator, encouraging charities in both countries to cooperate.

During the 3-day visit from June 25 to 27, Prince Harry will also play in the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic to raise funds for his African charity Sentebale. Last year, he raised £245,000 playing in the same match on New York’s Governors Island.

Princes William & Harry’s Joint Trip to World Cup

Prince William and Prince Harry are to undertake their first joint overseas tour next month, St James’s Palace announced, with a week-long tour of southern Africa in separate aircraft.

The two Princes will visit Botswana and Lesotho before traveling to South Africa in time for England’s World Cup match against Algeria in Cape Town, where they will be supporting England’s bid to host the World Cup in 2018.

However, because of rules forbidding the two Princes from flying together, William and Harry will undertake the tour without ever traveling on the same flight. Although it has involved drawing up a complicated itinerary for the pair — the week involves half a dozen flights for each of them — St James’s Palace has been at pains to ensure that the rule is adhered to. “Particularly after the death of the Polish president, it is something we take very seriously,” a Palace source said.

It said that Prince William’s international travel was being paid by the FA, while Prince Harry was paying his own costs.  They will be in Africa from June 14 to 21. Would that mean William is spending his 28th birthday on a plane?

Marathon not a sprint for Prince William and Jecca Craig

Prince Williams former fiancee Jecca Craig

Prince William's "former fiancee" Jecca Craig

Prince William supports marathon on Kenyan estate of his ‘former fiancée’ Jecca Craig.

Jessica Craig, with whom Prince William reportedly carried out a “pretend engagement” while he was staying at Lewa, her family’s wildlife reserve in Kenya, before going to university, still looms large in his life. The latest project which has brought them together is the Safari Marathon, on Lewa, which William is supporting. Last week, the Prince received prospective runners at St James’s Palace.

Jecca is the only woman to have precipitated an official bulletin about William’s love life. In 2003, the Prince of Wales’s staff issued a statement in which it was denied that the couple were involved in a relationship. They had never done this for any of William’s other alleged girlfriends. Shortly after, Jecca was the guest of honour at William’s 21st birthday party at Windsor Castle. In an interview, he insisted that he did not have a steady girlfriend at St Andrews University, where he had first met Kate Middleton two years earlier. It was not until 2004 that he was happy to be photographed with Kate.

If true, this would be a great idea…

Kate Middleton to be charitable princess?

Kate Middleton to be charitable princess?

Kate Middleton has been cruelly mocked as “Waity Katie” for the low profile that she has taken while being courted by Prince William. Now, however, she is preparing to take on a more public role.

The Telegraph’s Mandrake hears that the 28-year-old graduate has let it be known that she will be available to attend events for a number of charities from the autumn. “Kate’s name is already down for certain events,” says a royal courtier. “She will take a higher profile before the engagement is announced.”

Kate Spotted at Raffles Last Week

Princess-in-waiting Kate Middleton is renowned for being the model of decorum but there is a lesser known wild side to Prince William’s girlfriend.  Kate was spotted dancing on a podium and waving her arms around to disco music at London nightclub Raffles on Wednesday night.

With Prince William nowhere to be seen Kate, 27, joined her friend Astrid Harbord for a Children’s Trust charity bash.

‘Kate was surrounded by boys who kept putting their arms around her and twirling her around,’ one of their friends says. ‘At one stage The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air theme song came on and Kate saw the funny side when everyone sang the lyric, ”Looked to my kingdom I was finally there, To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air”.’

Kate was wearing a bright orange silk top with skinny jeans and stayed out sipping champagne until 4am.

Princess Beatrice Runs London Marathon

Princess Beatrice is the first royal to run the London marathon

Princess Beatrice is the first royal to run the London marathon

Way to go, Bea!  After months of training (and looking a lot more fit), Princess Beatrice conquers the London Marathon.

Cheered on by her proud parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice became the first ever royal to complete the London Marathon on Sunday – all the while part of a human caterpillar.

Bea and her American boyfriend Dave Clarke made it across the finish line having run the 26.2 miles tied to 33 other friends as members of ‘Team Caterpillar’, headed up by Richard Branson’s children Holly and Sam. That in itself was a record breaking feat as the gang became the largest number of runners to finish the race tied together. The team came in after 5 hours, 13 minutes and 4 seconds.

Beatrice – wearing the team’s lime-green skirt – said: “The hardest thing was trying to keep a steady pace that 34 people could do. The crowd were fantastic and they kept me going.”

Speaking to the BBC, mum Sarah said: “For so long I’ve been trying to get her fit and now she’s showing me up today. I’ve just decided that if she such a good role model to me then next year I’m going to do it.”
