A comprehensive analysis on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 8-year relationship, and why this augurs well for their future…
What a difference a day makes. Until November 16 the future Queen of England was just a nice middle-class girl who was the unfortunate subject of a media and gossip scrum. In the real world she was shrugged off as an obsession of the media; the nation rolled its eyes, even as she was regularly mobbed leaving her house.

Over the past eight years, their devotion to each other has been tried and tested sorely, but their determination to not make a huge and important mistake about their future – together or apart – is now clear.
Now those eight years make perfect sense. They have survived the finest furies that the media can throw at them and private pleasures and agonies of their own. They have got to know not only each other intimately but also their respective families. They have made a group of close, trusted friends and have tested each other’s mettle. While the Prince refused to bow to the pressure of making his long-term girlfriend his wife, Kate Middleton showed a patience and forbearance worthy of membership of a Holy Order.
