The Duke of Edinburgh will celebrate a milestone birthday in June – and begin his 10th decade. To mark the occasion, Windsor Castle is hosting a new exhibition featuring photographs and memorabilia from his childhood, marriage, family life and work. These never-before-seen snaps and many items taken from his personal archive are part of an exhibition chronicling the duke’s life at Windsor Castle that opens tomorrow and runs to January 22, 2012.

William & Kate Updates

Media circus over Kate and Camilla’s lunch out.  Who’d think a simple lunch between two potential future Queens would cause such silly frenzy?  First of all, some insider details.  Apparently, it wasn’t Pippa they were with, but a friend, according to the Telegraph. And Kate had foie gras for lunch, which may earn the disapproval of Prince Charles. The Sun points out Kate’s weight loss.  And based on her latest appearance, Liz Jones suggests on ways for Kate to improve her lookGoodness!  All the focus on weight and appearance!  You’d think the world would have learned a thing or two from Diana. Her dress was from the Autumn 2009 Diane von Furstenberg collection, bought on sale for £97.  Moreover, the Telegraph refers to Camilla as a charming ally for Kate, and the Express calls her a confidante. And Time points out 5 things Kate can learn from Camilla.

Prince William made Colonel of the Irish Guards. New honorary role for William.  The Queen given her formal approval to the appointment of Prince William as Colonel of the Irish Guards.  Prince William will take over the appointment from Major General Sir Sebastian Roberts, and will likely perform ceremonial duties.

Other Royal News

Prince Harry is to play in a fundraising polo match in Dubai in aid of his charity which helps impoverished African children.  He will have a one day trip on March 19, and will carry out several engagements.  Source: Press Association.  Harry was also spotted in Salisbury in Spirit Bar enjoying a night out with his RAF friends.
