He is known for his alluring photographs of supermodels and Hollywood stars, and for creating the most enduring images of Diana, Princess of Wales. Now, Mario Testino, the fashion and celebrity photographer, has turned his lens on a future queen.
It can now be revealed that Testino has taken the official engagement photographs of Kate Middleton and Prince William. A royal aide confirmed that Testino had taken a set of photographs of the couple last month in London to mark their engagement. The pictures are expected to be released later this month.
Testino is credited with producing the most memorable pictures of Princess Diana. The Princes have subsequently turned to Testino for photographs to mark important milestones in their lives, including Prince William’s 21st birthday in June 2003, and Prince Harry’s 20th birthday in 2004, when the brothers were photographed roaring with laughter while sharing a joke with the Prince of Wales at Highgrove.

Kate to Participate in Queen’s Diamond Jubilee — with Camilla’s Help
Kate Middleton is being lined up to play a prominent role in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee – with help from Camilla.
The Queen wants Kate to cut her teeth at the celebrations in 2012 and has asked her to turn to the Duchess of Cornwall for any questions she may have.
“After her marriage in April, Kate will really start to sort out her future role,” a Royal insider said. “The Queen and Camilla will take an active interest and offer advice. The plan is for Kate to help pep up the Jubilee’s youthful and glamorous face, while also underlining the continuity of the monarchy. Kate is keen to dispel the image of her being workshy and William believes that he can make the public see her as he does: as a caring woman of substance.”

“Kate is keen to dispel the image of her being workshy.” Good for her! She and William need to start proving themselves useful to the monarchy immediately after their wedding. I personally don’t think the palace, media or public will allow them the privilege of being a normal military husband and wife. I think by the end of this year he’ll be forced to be a fulltime royal like Kate.

I seriously doubt that William will become a full-time royal before he ends his RAF commitments in 2013. It’s quite impossible to do. And I don’t think he’ll yield to public demand for more sightings with his new bride just because the world would want to see them. Like Tom Bradby said, what he wants above all is private domestic happiness. I think that’s very true and I think he will fight for it.

He can fight but I think this is a battle he won’t win.
