No engagement has been announced yet, but the magazines and TV networks – hopeful as ever – have begun giving the anticipated engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton some coverage.
TLC to air William & Kate: A Royal Love Story
On Sunday, November 7, American TV network TLC premieres back-to-back specials with two very busy Kates in the public eye in KATE PLUS EIGHT: ALASKA, HERE WE COME and WILLIAM & KATE: A ROYAL LOVE STORY.
Starting 10 pm, TLC premieres WILLIAM & KATE: A ROYAL LOVE STORY. Showcasing the definitive love story between a Prince who will be King and the woman who may one day be his Queen, this brand new documentary unveils Prince William and Kate Middleton’s intriguing royal courtship that began in college eight years ago. Theirs is an unlikely story – Kate is an attractive young woman, but grew up well outside the realm of royalty. William is the embodiment of centuries of royal breeding and tradition. As he is being groomed for kingship with Kate at his side, this special reveals the added pressures William will face as he is expected to restore the reputation of the tarnished House of Windsor, a royal house severely damaged by his parents’ broken marriage and his mother Princess Diana’s untimely and tragic death.

On the Cover of People Magazine… Again.
After years of anticipation, royal watchers say Kate Middleton may soon be walking down the aisle to wed the world’s most eligible bachelor.
One royal expert interviewed in this week’s PEOPLE cover story says Prince William will likely propose to his girlfriend of eight years in February 2011. “There won’t be an announcement before Christmas because William has got to ask the Queen first,” says longtime royal watcher Ingrid Seward. “And they will get married soon after.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton favourites to marry on 13th August 2011
Paddy Power make the first two Saturdays in August the likeliest for a Royal Wedding.
The bookmakers have already paid out on a Royal Wedding in 2011 and it’s a question of which summer date next year will be picked for the future King of England to marry his girlfriend. Paddy Power make 13th August 2011 as the date likeliest for the couple to be spliced, with odds of 3/1 about the wedding taking place that day. You can back 6th August 2011 at odds of 4/1 and it could be one of these two days.

On a side note…
Kate Middleton Fails to RSVP Charity Dinner Invitation
To the dismay of the organisers of the glittering Fashion For The Brave dinner, which raised money for Help For Heroes and the Army Benevolent Fund, Prince William’s girlfriend, Kate Middleton, not only failed to show up for the event but didn’t even bother to reply to her invitation.
Kate — the girl expected to be the next Princess of Wales — and her sister Pippa were both sent embossed invitations to the event, which raised £250,000, more than six weeks ago. But while her Royal Sir Force boyfriend, who was also invited, responded, Kate did not.
‘We had a formal response from Prince William and Prince Harry’s private secretary, who wrote sending their deep apologies and pointed out how much they wanted to be there but that, as ordinary soldiers, they could not get leave of absence from their military duties,’ says a spokesman for the organisers. But we had no response at all from William’s girlfriend, Kate Middleton, nor anything from her sister. I may be old-fashioned, but surely it is common courtesy to reply to a formal invitation.’
The article continues to say that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie also failed to RSVP.
Funny, because even on the day in question, the charity organizers kept on tweeting that they were expecting “royals,” and even named Bea, Eug and Kate on their tweets. Looks like they didn’t know what they were talking about…

The US media is going into overdrive again. they loved Diana and are probably desperate to get a new princess to talk about.
as for the charity dinner Kate missed. LOL @ the organizer tweets. I saw those. probably attaching names in an attempt to up their profile. in as much as it would have been proper for Kate, Pippa, Beatrice and Eugenie to have RSVP-ed, there’s something very unclassy with the way the organizers handled the situation.

Besides, that charity dinner was a very glitzy, pap-laden event with lots of celebrities. Kate, in trying to maintain a low profile, would never have favored an appearance.
The US press is also heavily invested on the British monarchy. How many People Magazine covers have William & Kate had this year already? And that doesn’t even count Star, Us and whatnot. Pretty crazy, IMO, especially with no concrete engagement evidence to back anything.

im sure the sisters have their reason for what they did, but kate should be very careful with what she does from here on out because the criticism she gets now wont be anything compared to the criticism she will get if she does this again after she has married into the royal family.

Sorry British royals but the actual event probably had nothing to do with Kate not showing up. Kate has been to many high profile events before, including the Tenacity on the Tasman movie premiere which was latent with photographers.

The Tasman premiere doesn’t even come close in terms of profile. That was mainly for Virgin’s production team and Oli’s friends. No high profile TV anchors or celebrities. Not at all comparable to Fashion for the Brave, IMO.

really then why was she on every major cover the next day?

Simple, Sam. Because she’s Kate Middleton, England’s potential future princess. And she sells papers.
