Carole & Michael Middleton on the day of their daugther's engagement to Prince William was announced
With an anticipated cost of more than £10 million, it might have been tempting to let the groom’s family pick up the bill for the Royal wedding. But Kate Middleton’s parents have insisted they will pay towards the cost of their daughter’s marriage to Prince William, even if their contribution is dwarfed by that of the Queen and the Prince of Wales.
Carole and Michael Middleton, who are self-made millionaires through their online partyware business, are understood to want to pay for a “specific” aspect of the celebrations, such as the honeymoon, rather than making an “impersonal” contribution towards the overall cost.
A senior aide said yesterday: “The Middleton family from the outset have been extremely generous. They are very very keen to contribute.”
Another insider said: “The idea very much came from them. It was very sweet and very gratefully received. The receptions are likely to be covered by the Queen and the Prince of Wales or both, but even within the receptions the Middletons could contribute.”

William & Kate will invite some members of the public to their wedding
While The Sun has reported that 100 lucky members of the public can get invitations through “Willy-Wonka Golden Ticket” draws to William & Kate’s wedding, palace sources have confirmed to People Magazine that the lottery approach isn’t true.
The commoners who will receive the coveted invitations are likely to come from the charities that the prince and his bride are close to.

I dont understand why people from Australia wont get a chance to win a ticket to the wedding.I met Prince William last jan: when he came to Australia -and i love his mother from day one. People who love these people should get a ticket not just anyone. Prince William is a real Peoples Prince like Diana the Peoples Princess. I will do any thing to go to the wedding.

Gerry, last I heard that “winning a ticket” to the wedding deal has been deemed impractical due to security reasons. William seems to love Australia, though, so I’m sure the couple will an official tour sometime down the road.
