To be or not to be in Sandringham — the eternal question from which numerous articles have been spawned over the past year. And after the the Queen’s recent paparazzi ban on the estate, I guess we will never know.

Now People UK claims Kate Middleton will not be there at all this holiday season.  In fact, she did not receive an invite from the Queen this year and is quite “sad and disappointed” about it.  The monarch has decided it’s only going to be family at Sandringham this Christmas.  The article states that Kate was at Sandringham on Boxing Day last year, in 2005 and 2006. This year, she plans to spend Christmas and Boxing Day with her family in Berkshire, and will meet up with Prince William after.  There have been previous reports about Wills & Kate’s holiday plans.

A parallel article highlights how “cold” the Royal Family could be; how tight they are as a group but how unwelcoming they are to outsiders.  Princess Diana had “no help” after she got engaged to Charles.  Fergie’s father didn’t meet the Queen until two years after her wedding to Andrew.  And Captain Mark Phillips’ parents have never been invited for a meal despite their son’s marriage to Princess Anne.
