If true, this would be a great idea…

Kate Middleton to be charitable princess?
Kate Middleton has been cruelly mocked as “Waity Katie” for the low profile that she has taken while being courted by Prince William. Now, however, she is preparing to take on a more public role.
The Telegraph’s Mandrake hears that the 28-year-old graduate has let it be known that she will be available to attend events for a number of charities from the autumn. “Kate’s name is already down for certain events,” says a royal courtier. “She will take a higher profile before the engagement is announced.”

Kate Spotted at Raffles Last Week
Princess-in-waiting Kate Middleton is renowned for being the model of decorum but there is a lesser known wild side to Prince William’s girlfriend. Kate was spotted dancing on a podium and waving her arms around to disco music at London nightclub Raffles on Wednesday night.
With Prince William nowhere to be seen Kate, 27, joined her friend Astrid Harbord for a Children’s Trust charity bash.
‘Kate was surrounded by boys who kept putting their arms around her and twirling her around,’ one of their friends says. ‘At one stage The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air theme song came on and Kate saw the funny side when everyone sang the lyric, ”Looked to my kingdom I was finally there, To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air”.’
Kate was wearing a bright orange silk top with skinny jeans and stayed out sipping champagne until 4am.

Oh please, the woman has been on a course to marry Prince William for the last eight-years. Suddenly announcing that Kate Middleton will be ‘available’ for ‘Charity-work’ from the Autumn to boost her profile is so sycophantic rather like ‘Mandrakes’ article in the Daily Telegraph!!! Why wait until the Autumn? Is that so she can fit in a few holidays beforehand?!!!. What about all the people who toil day in and day out on their own volition as a vocation? Charities are not there to prop up a person’s profile and image. What a smack in the face for the veteran workers in Charities when Lady Bountiful arrives on the scene! As for dancing on a nightclub podium all in the name of a ‘Charity’ singing and I quote:-”Looked to my kingdom I was finally there, To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air”.’-unquote, I am sure the Queen was really impressed with that display. Her Grandson is being used to get a leg-up the ‘social-ladder’. Prince William is nuts if he marrys Kate Middleton. No amount of Charity-work will redeem her image of a workshy party girl who has too much time on her hands. The only person who cannot see what trouble he is getting himself into is the main target…Prince William.

Dave, while I acknowledge your opinion, I firmly disagree…
The image of Kate as a “workshy party girl” was largely created by the media in order to sell papers about a private girl who hasn’t spoken a word. I am not saying she’s silently a workaholic, but her image is NOT who she is. To say she’s using William to get a leg-up the social ladder is quite judgemental, IMO. And believe me, William knows what he’s getting into! It’s you, us (the unknowing public) who should step back and allow them to live their lives as they please. William has been with Kate for a reason. How can we argue that we are the better judge if all we know about Kate Middleton are stories from papers whose primary purpose is to make money? Please!

I agree with david. I don’t think that going to night clubs is considered charity work. furthermore if Kate doesn’t want to get a real job for fear of attention then go back to university and get a P.H.D!!

No. Going clubbing is not charity work. And Kate does not go to nightclubs for a living. In fact, she goes less than Chelsy or Harry. Is not working for your parents considered a job? Lucky are those who have family businesses that offer flexibility. If not, oh curse all those who work for their family’s empire – including the Bransons, the Trumps and all mom & pop businesses that successfully thrive through generations!

You’re going to compare the Trumps and the Bransons who have a multi-billion dollar real estate and airline corporations to a family who sells party supplies (plastic cups and balloons) on the internet. Really? Even if Kate’s family had a mom and pop store where she was a cashier and people could actually see her doing something I would actually respect. Besides, no one sees her going to the office every single day unlike when she was at Jigsaw, how do you know it’s not just a cover, and in fact she spends all day doing her nails and reading the latest British Vogue?

A comment refuting Katie Nicholl’s story about Kate dancing on a podium:

“I was at the Raffles on wednesday to celebrate the night “My Boyfriend is Out of Town”. I met Kate Middleton and friends and sorry to disappoint you Steve but Kate didnt dance on the podium, it’s a lie. I’m sure I’m right because I left the club after her and didnt stop to look at her because who she is. She is much prettier in real, has very pretty green eyes, she is very tall and very thin, warm and funny”
why am I not surprised?

But how do you know it is one? If you take the information given, it’s that she works for her parents so she can keep some privacy intact. That’s what her lawyer, her family and the press all say. You’re the one saying something different, and while that guesswork is definitely your prerogative, it’s a little unreasonable to say people trusting the only info in the public domain have to prove it is true. Why don’t you have to disprove it, when you’re the one going against reported fact?
All any of us know is press stories about her. People who like her discount the bad, and people who dislike her say the good is hokum. All we really know is that she is with PW and looks set to stay that way, as far as anyone can tell. She certainly doesn’t go clubbing much, and why on earth shouldn’t she, anyway? She’s not even 30 yet. Nor have I seen any indication of that night being “charity work”. It was just a night out.
There is no evidence of her being a bad person. That doesn’t mean anyone has to like her, but the venom aimed at a girl who hasn’t actually done anything wrong seems a bit extreme. She seems fine to me. I don’t see any reason she wouldn’t make a good princess.

Thanks for comment, HL. Exactly my thoughts. Kate Middleton is still in truth largely unknown and therefore deserves the benefit of a doubt and some basic human respect.
