Charity Carol Service for Kate
In her first appearance since announcing her engagement to Prince William, Princess-to-be Kate Middleton attended a carol service in aid of the Henry Van Straubenzee Memorial Fund at St. Luke’s Church, Chelsea. Henry died in December 2002 in a car crash. His family are old friends of William, and subsequently, Kate. William and Harry have been joint patrons of the fund since last year. Kate has regularly supported many of their projects. In fact, she attended the same carol service on exactly the same day last year…
Kate wore a black coat and her favourite pair of knee-high black suede boots.

Has Kate Chosen Her Wedding Dress Designer?
It’s the question on everyone’s lips: who will design Kate Middleton’s wedding dress? Now bookmakers have received the strongest indication yet that a designer for the gown has been chosen. Paddy Power has received so many wagers on Bruce Oldfield to design the Royal wedding dress, it has suspended betting.
Oldfield, 60, who designed wedding dresses for Samantha Cameron and Jemima Khan, is renowned for his couture gowns, which start at £8,000. His ready-to-wear line gowns cost from £1,700 and his pieces have been worn by everyone from Sienna Miller to Rihanna. His designs were also a favourite with William’s mother, the late Princess Diana.

Allow me to share what Mark Stewart, royal photographer, tweeted about this event:
“What a difference a ring makes! Kate Middleton’s appearance last night @ a charity carol concert was quite different from last year’s. Last year she waited on guests, cleared up the rubbish & left by black cab. This year she arrived in a chauffeur driven range rover with 4 detectives, a press officer & an office aide before holding court to her inner circle of friends.”

That observation is not flattering. It makes it seem like last year she was helpful and this year she wasn’t. As if that now she has the ring she doesn’t have to bother anymore.

You never know with Kate. I think she will get better in the future. She has to live and learn like everyone else.

I think you guys are being a little unfair to Kate. I don’t think it is a case of “she does not have to bother anymore”, it is just that circumstances have dramatically changed. i doubt she has little say anymore as to how many royal detectives she has or what form of transport she has to take.
If you are old enough to remember you may well recall it was a similar situation with Princess Diana. Before her engagement to Prince Charles she was mercilessly persued everywhere by the press. As soon as her engagement was announced security eas tightened up significantly. I think few would argue that this meant shes no longer cared as proved by her charity work in later years.
It is too soon to start judging poor Kate, let the dust settle from her wedding and we will soon get a better idea as to what kind of royal she and William will become.

Kate is a symbol of UK’s Cinderella. Poor thing you’re hitting on her here.
