He was keen to be able to visit Canada for himself as an adult, and to be able to show his wife a country that is close to his family’s heart.”
The royal couple will visit Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and the capital, Ottawa.
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has expressed his delight at the news adding that the trip “is a testament” to the country’s “very close relationship with the royal family.”

But what happened to easying her into royal life? Do they honostly think she’ll ready in two months?

@Sam She’s essentially going on vacation and meeting a lot of new people. It can’t be that hard. Canadians are beyond friendly and I’m sure there will be a lot less pressure and less protocol in Canada than the UK. Plus, she’ll be with William. She’s not yet taking up her own patronages, making speeches and going off on her own.
The word “wife” in the press statement tripped me up. Awwww!

Sam, your need to comment on every single story makes you look very desperate. Give it a rest.
In 2007, William told her they would get married. Therefore, she’s had far more than 2 months to prepare for royal life. She’s also not working anymore, so she can use this time now to prepare too. Get it?

If you don’t like my comments Carly, don’t read it! Furthermore, it was Katie Nicholl who said that they agreed to marry back 07, but in their official engagement interview William said that they’ve only been talking about marriage for a year. I’m surprised at your comment because your the most critical out of anyone here!

Interesting comments. I think Kate is doing marvelously well all things considering – what absolute pressure she is under… And coping on the surface very well – very relaxed and not making a big deal – and not changing in the face of the public more importantly.. Some perspective I suggest is needed..

Right on Cynthia! Completely agree with you.. I think Kate is doing a tremendous job – what with the pressure of Princess Diana – all that she achieved – and living up to that? Coupled with her background insecurities.. She looks an absolute natural in the role!!

I blush to admit I’m old enough to remember when William was born and it’s so strange to think he’s old enough to be married, let alone to take his wife to tour Canada officially. They do look so happy together and who could wish them anything but joy and a strong future? The family has been through so much. I agree with you, Carol and Cynthia, that Kate seems to staying true to herself so well.

Kate is doing a good job, but she needs to get more actively involved in charities before people start accusing her of taking too many foreign trips as opposed to helping out those in need. Just my two cents, though.

Wendy, I’m going through the same emotions as you. Ever since the wedding, I’ve been going through a midlife crisis. I remember the day William was born – my mom told me I was her prince, even though I am a girl haha. Anyway, it’s kind of crazy to see him old and getting married. Just makes me realize how old and insignificant I really am.

Kate seems to have very quiet since the wedding and the visit to Canada. I wonder if the recent episode of that other royal bride (Princess Zara) and in particualr her hubby’s exploits in New Zealand on the rugby tour have made them all keep a lid on it! Mike, webmaster of Preston Vets Clinic.

This is their first overseas tour and I am sure it will be a great owner for the Canadians to get such royal guest. This visit will also help both the countries to get closer. Nice picture that you have shared. The new princes, Kate will also get some time to know this country, its people and the relation between the country and the royal people. They are planning for a long trip, so I am sure, it will be a different experience for Kate.
