Diana’s Legacy: Why Prince William will be a Better Husband than Charles
Richard Kay, a reporter friend of the late Princess Diana, has this to say as to why he thinks Prince William will make a better husband to Kate than “cold” Prince Charles ever was to Diana. Patronizing, but with a lot of truth. Let’s hope our new princess won’t have to suffer the same ill fate the late Diana went through during her marriage. It’s already been reported that Prince William wants to ease Kate Middleton’s transition into royal life, which would be of great benefit to her.
Millions of women felt a pang of envy towards Kate Middleton this week, and not just because she was being swept away by a handsome prince. It was because of something William said, quite matter-of-factly, in the middle of their television interview.”We are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together,” he told the millions watching. And as he uttered those words, intimate little smiles passed between himself and the future Princess Catherine. His comfort with her, her confidence in him, was utterly transparent.
It doesn’t take a genius to understand why William does not intend to repeat the mistakes of his father. Thirty years ago, Prince Charles set the tone of his own tragic marriage to the young Lady Diana in four ill-chosen words that will pursue him to his grave — ‘whatever “in love” means’.

Kate Middleton Begins a Life of Protection
Over the eight years of Kate Middleton’s relationship with William, she has shopped at her local supermarket, travelled to social events and driven to work alone. However, as the future queen that will not be permitted because she is now considered a potential terrorist target.
A team of close protection officers from the Metropolitan Police has already begun to watch over the future princess 24 hours a day. The bill to the taxpayer is likely to be around £300,000 a year.
Yesterday, an armed male officer sat in the front of Miss Middleton’s Audi as she visited friends and Party Pieces, her parents’ online partyware company. However, her closest protectors are likely to be Insp Karen Llewellyn, 45, and Sgt Emma Probert, 39, who have shifted roles from their previous jobs with Princesses Beatrice & Eugenie. The two female officers are said to be experts in martial arts and escape tactics.
A Scotland Yard source said: “It was thought very important to have two female members of the team who will get on well with Kate. They have been specially chosen for their experience and the fact that they are easy to get on with.” Beatrice and Eugenie were said to be “sad but philosophical” at losing Emma.“They got on really well with her but they understand that Kate is the priority at the moment,”
