But a palace spokesman said: “They’re not going to be rushed and want to take things at their own pace. They’re very important decisions to make and like any couple they want to make sure they’ve properly considered all of the factors. They do have a specific venue and specific date in mind. They have given firm direction on costs. But they need to consult with all the relevant parties on this.”
Unlike previously suspected, the date and venue of next year’s most anticipated wedding probably won’t be announced today. We already know that the event will probably be made a national holiday, with William and Kate “supporting the idea.”

Kate leaving parents' home in Buckebury on Friday
What has Kate Been Up to?

Kate leaving parents' home in Buckebury on Friday
Tuesday: engagement announcement
Wednesday: morning – talks with royal advisers. Afternoon – William leaves for North Wales. Evening – Kate visits Westminster Abbey with her parents
Thursday: Kate seen driving to Bucklebury during the day. Evening – Kate’s first hen night at Clarence House? (Unless this happened Wednesday night after the Abbey visit, I find this article questionable as Kate is seen leaving Bucklebury again on Friday morning, where she likely stayed for the night)
Friday: Kate seen leaving parents house in Bucklebury. More date/venue talks?
After the Wedding: Baby on Top of the List?
Kate Middleton will not forge a role as a working princess immediately after she marries, fueling speculation that she and Prince William plan to start a family straight away. Kate, who turns 29 in January, is to give up her job as a website designer and photographer at the family business Party Pieces despite previous plans to continue after the wedding.
But she won’t be taking up full-time royal duties on her own. Kate will not get her own office and will instead share staff with William. A spokesman said last night: ‘Prince William wants to initiate her properly into the job, so at first she will not undertake any solo engagements. If Miss Middleton is free before the wedding, she may join the prince on engagements but that decision will be taken on a case-by-case basis.’
Whether this means Kate will largely be a military wife of a full-time working royal remains to be seen. It is made clear, however, that she will not do solo engagements at first and will be eased into the role (GREAT idea, IMO). Other articles say she will accompany William to his official duties, including any overseas tours.

I honestly doubt that William will want children right away, but the public will not stand for a non-working royal. Kate needs to be doing something other then the cooking and cleaning.

kate will be a working royal according to courtiers. That has already been established. But I think she won’t be pushed head-on into the job just like Diana was. that’s brilliant, and it shows that william is indeed very protective of her. it was that massive and unsupported public life thrust that worsened Diana’s bulimia. she was exhausted and had fainting spells.
none of that for your new princess, hopefully!

I can understand William wanting to introduce Kate to royal duties slowly but what is she going to do with her time while William is in the military?

simple. be his wife. just like HM was given time to be a wife and the duchess of Wessex did. and lets not forget the job of producing an heir.
i think this introduction has been well thought of. for once, it seems right. Diana was thrusted into the spotlight too quickly and without support. Fergie was left alone in buckingham palace while her husband went off to work. i do think they’re learning form the mistakes of the past

Seeing pictures of Kate and her security team is bittersweet. On one hand, she finally gets protection she often needs. But it’s extremely sad to see her private life forever gone.

People already think of her as lazy and never really believed she worked that hard at her job at party pieces. If she wants to shake that ‘waity katey’ nickname she needs to be doing something. Putski Philip and Elizabeth were from a different time when there was a lot more respect for the monarchy. Those days are gone and the royal family have to constantly justify their existence to the taxpayers.
