Back to day job: Prince Harry meets seriously ill children
Tottenham, Hackney, Lambeth & Croydon
The biggest media coverage, naturally, went to William & Kate as they visited Birmingham. Their tour started at Summerfield Community Centre in Winson Green, close to where three men were knocked down and killed during disorder in the city. They had a 20-minute private meeting with the families of the men. William & Kate also met local residents, business people and emergency services staff and were told about what impact the rioting had on the city and the efforts behind the clean-up operation. Afterward, they visited a local business, the Machan Express coffee shop which was looted by up to 70 rioters. The people were very pleased that William & Kate came to visit, with the coffee shop owner even describing it as “the best moment of my life.”
