Harry at Annabel’s

After catching the London premiere of Sherlock Holmes on Monday with brother Prince William and Kate Middleton, Prince Harry capped the night off  by partying with Guy Pelly and three other male friends at Annabel’s private members club.   They were seen leaving at 3am Tuesday morning.  And on a rare occasion, Harry exchanged pleasantries with the waiting paparazzi.

Harry: “Thanks for being so nice tonight guys.”
Pap: “We’re always nice.”
Harry: “No you’re not.”

He then gave them a thumbs up as the royal car sped away.  That’s the way to do it, Harry!  Absolutely charming!

William and Harry Attend Military Awards

A Night for Heroes. Prince William and Prince Harry attended the Sun Military Awards on Monday, December 15, 2009, at the Imperial War Museum in London.  Both princes played significant roles in honoring the service’s unsung finest.

Prince William, opening the event, delivered a speech on the forces he will one day lead.   “These are not just words. It is the truth. Your unremitting pursuit of excellence, your humanity, your humility, your extraordinary self-discipline, your camaraderie – regardless of background – mark you out as amongst the very best in our society.  I count it as a huge privilege and an honour to wear the same uniform as you.”

In a poignant climax to the Millies awards, Prince Harry presented the group becoming known as the Band of Mothers with a Special Recognition honour.  They are a group of eight mums who lost their sons.

Showing all the warmth and understanding for which his mum Princess Diana was famous, Harry, who was 12 when Diana died, embraced them and called them “quite remarkable ladies”. “Your story is truly humbling. To show such immense courage in the face of tragedy is beyond words.”

William, Harry & Kate Sneak Into Sherlock Holmes Premiere

They tried to avoid getting photographed, but the cameras caught them anyway…

Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry went to see the premiere of the new film Sherlock Holmes in Leicester Square, December 14, 2009.  They shunned the red carpet and tried to avoid the cameras by entering the cinema through the back door 5 minutes after the movie started and leaving as soon as the credits rolled.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, Sherlock Holmes stars Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Rachel McAdams.

This is the third public spotting of Wills and Kate in four days.  They went to see the West End show War Horse on Friday, and were seen in Nam Long on Saturday.  William recently passed his flying exams.  Though Chelsy Davy wasn’t at the premiere, she and Harry were also recently spotted at the X-Factor Finale and dining at Daphne’s.

Harry Wings Back to War

Royal top gun Prince Harry has shot down previous reports that he will never return to fight in Afghanistan. He has been assured by Army brass he will be allowed to fight when he wins his helicopter wings next year.

Instructors point out that earlier this year he passed his fixed-wing pilot’s licence in the top 5% of his intake at the forces’ Central Flying School at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire.

Reports claimed Harry, below, had been grounded by fears he would be a top Taliban target if he returned to Afghanistan.  He came under enemy rocket fire during his stint in Helmand province last year when Taliban chiefs threatened to snatch and behead him live on the internet.

But a senior Ministry of Defence official said: “He’s a skilful and brave pilot and will stand or fall on his own merits. He was a target last time he was in Afghanistan, as is every British serviceman.”

Wills & Kate, Harry & Chelsy — Watch Two Very Different Shows

They media has often pointed out how different these two sets of couples are.  This weekend, their choice for a date night shows just that.

Prince William & Kate Middleton: always media conscious; hang out with a quieter crowd; never do PDA; almost “boring” and “act like an old couple” in public.  Their date choice?  The award winning West End show War Horse — a play set in World War I.  The Queen and the Duke have also seen this show recently.

Prince Harry & Chelsy Davy: more laid back, less restrained; party-lovers / smokers and not afraid to show it.  Their date choice?  The X-Factor final in front of 20 million viewers.  Chelsy has already been to the show three weeks ago. She’s said to be a huge fan and throws X-Factor themed parties in her Chelsea flat with Harry and her friends watching the show together.
