William & Kate Return to St. Andrews to Attend Flatmate’s Wedding

Another weekend, another wedding. But as usual, not yet their own…

Prince William and girlfriend Kate Middleton were guests at the nuptials of their former flatmate Oliver Baker to Melissa Nicholson, both 27, in St Andrews – where all four graduated in 2005.

About 150 guests were at the ceremony at stunning St Salvator’s Chapel in the Fife town. Wills and Kate arrived through a back entrance under tight security. Kate looked beautiful in an ivory brocade coat (reused from Laura Parker Bowles’ wedding) and killer black heels topped off with a black pillbox hat (reused from Peter Phillips’ wedding).

Last night a wedding party source said: “Kate looked a million dollars in an ivory outfit and people were speculating about their own plans.  They’ve been together for years and everyone’s wondering when Wills will pop the question. Hopefully next time they’re at a wedding, it’ll be their own.”

Prince William Set for the Falklands

Prince William may be posted in the Falklands

Prince William may be posted in the Falklands

Adam Helliker of the Express reveals that Prince William is to be sent to the Falklands, where the RAF is beefing up its defences amid renewed aggressive noises from the Argentinians.

Despite this renewed tension, the RAF is making provisional plans to post Prince William for a tour of duty in the Falklands, where his uncle Prince Andrew served as a helicopter pilot in the fierce fighting of the last conflict, which cost the lives of 255 British combatants.

“Crews do relief stints out in the Falklands, where we operate Sea King helicopters for search and rescue, and it’s being pencilled in for William sometime down the line,” says a senior RAF source. “He’ll do a couple of months there.”

If so, it means more time away from girlfriend Kate Middleton. William currently rents a cottage in RAF Valley, and Kate often comes to visit during the weekends.

Kate Middleton Prepares for Role as Charitable Princess

If true, this would be a great idea…

Kate Middleton to be charitable princess?

Kate Middleton to be charitable princess?

Kate Middleton has been cruelly mocked as “Waity Katie” for the low profile that she has taken while being courted by Prince William. Now, however, she is preparing to take on a more public role.

The Telegraph’s Mandrake hears that the 28-year-old graduate has let it be known that she will be available to attend events for a number of charities from the autumn. “Kate’s name is already down for certain events,” says a royal courtier. “She will take a higher profile before the engagement is announced.”

Kate Spotted at Raffles Last Week

Princess-in-waiting Kate Middleton is renowned for being the model of decorum but there is a lesser known wild side to Prince William’s girlfriend.  Kate was spotted dancing on a podium and waving her arms around to disco music at London nightclub Raffles on Wednesday night.

With Prince William nowhere to be seen Kate, 27, joined her friend Astrid Harbord for a Children’s Trust charity bash.

‘Kate was surrounded by boys who kept putting their arms around her and twirling her around,’ one of their friends says. ‘At one stage The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air theme song came on and Kate saw the funny side when everyone sang the lyric, ”Looked to my kingdom I was finally there, To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air”.’

Kate was wearing a bright orange silk top with skinny jeans and stayed out sipping champagne until 4am.

William and Kate Twitter Whereabouts

Tracking the whereabouts of Prince William & Kate Middleton

Tracking the whereabouts of Prince William & Kate Middleton

The power (and craze) of Twitter…

Last week, a shopkeeper in North Wales tweeted on having Prince William and Kate Middleton in his store, saying the couple denied their identities, but were obviously the real deal, as they “had bodyguards” and “talked really posh.”

The press has of course tracked the tweet down, and this article came up:

Prince William and Kate Middleton go shopping in Blaenau Ffestiniog

Jaws dropped in the store as the couple shopped for groceries while bodyguards stood at the door of the store.

Deputy manager Ceurwyn Williams-Michelmore said the informal Royal visit had been the talk of the town. He said: “I had just left the shop when I got a phone call telling me who had just been in. The young assistant who was working said she was very excited and nervous.”

“She said the prince and Kate had been very polite and were just like any normal couple.

“There were a few shoppers in the store at the time and they couldn’t believe it, some didn’t even recognise him at first because you would never expect to see him here in Blaenau. Everyone in Blaenau has been talking about it since then. It really is the talk of the town here at the moment.”

Prince William has rented a cottage in North Wales so that he and Kate can have more privacy when she visits.  He is expected to keep this lodging for the three years that he’s stationed in RAF Valley.

Then, a highly suspicious tweet…

Brides Magazine claims a mole saw Kate Middleton having her hair done at Richard Ward’s hair salon with a “mega huge engagement ring” on. Highly doubtful, because in my opinion, even if they’re secretly engaged, the ever-discreet Kate wouldn’t be caught dead with an engagement ring on her finger until a proper public announcement has been made.

Richard Ward himself denied it in his own tweet: “absolute billybull – Kate was not even in here on the day in question and even if we had seen something, we wouldn’t discuss it.”

And then another tweet came in, saying she and Kate shared the same flight to London (April 30).

Looks like Kate is back after spending some time with William…

Prince Harry Set to Fly Either Lynx or Apache

Prince Harry is in line to return to Afghanistan next year after qualifying as an Army Air Corps helicopter pilot. The 25-year-old, who has done better than expected in his training and passed the course to fly either Lynx choppers or elite £46 million Apache helicopter gunships, will receive his provisional wings from his father Prince Charles at a passing out parade next Friday.

“Prince Harry is very pleased,” said a St James’s Palace spokesman. “He will give the matter serious consideration over the next few days before inputting his preference.”

In an interview last year, Harry admitted: “I love the Apaches [but] brain capacity? I don’t know if I have got it for the Apache. If I got a personal preference, I’d probably choose the Lynx.” But according to MoD sources, the prince has astonished his instructors with his ability. Said one: “He has worked his socks off over the last 18 months and has proved to be a natural and instinctive pilot.”

Whichever he chooses, it is likely he will achieve his dream of returning late next year to Afghanistan.

Princess Beatrice Runs London Marathon

Princess Beatrice is the first royal to run the London marathon

Princess Beatrice is the first royal to run the London marathon

Way to go, Bea!  After months of training (and looking a lot more fit), Princess Beatrice conquers the London Marathon.

Cheered on by her proud parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice became the first ever royal to complete the London Marathon on Sunday – all the while part of a human caterpillar.

Bea and her American boyfriend Dave Clarke made it across the finish line having run the 26.2 miles tied to 33 other friends as members of ‘Team Caterpillar’, headed up by Richard Branson’s children Holly and Sam. That in itself was a record breaking feat as the gang became the largest number of runners to finish the race tied together. The team came in after 5 hours, 13 minutes and 4 seconds.

Beatrice – wearing the team’s lime-green skirt – said: “The hardest thing was trying to keep a steady pace that 34 people could do. The crowd were fantastic and they kept me going.”

Speaking to the BBC, mum Sarah said: “For so long I’ve been trying to get her fit and now she’s showing me up today. I’ve just decided that if she such a good role model to me then next year I’m going to do it.”
