Zara Phillips Designs Clothing Line

Zara Phillips models designs from her collection, ZP 176, for Musto

Zara Phillips models designs from her collection, "ZP 176", for Musto

Watch out Stella McCartney! There’s a young upstart thundering through the strata of stylish, functional sportswear design: Zara Phillips.

“Oh god, don’t call me a fashion designer!” she laughs, as she talks through her first-ever fashion collection for specialist sports brand, Musto. Despite her modesty , the royal equestrian is well-placed to boast when it comes to designing for the arena – she is the current Eventing World Champion, no less.

“I tried and tested everything. With design, the products were already there – I just tweaked a few things, like put in a longer cut for the riding jackets, so it won’t expose the back if you’re riding in the elements,” she explains. “It’s less to do with mainstream fashion and more about practicality and engineering something that works in training, but which you wouldn’t be embarrassed to be seen in, in public.”

Two years in the making, the cryptically-named “ZP 176” collection (a combo of her initials and British Eventing number) consists of fleece-lined waterproof and windproof jackets, padded gilets and super-soft fleeces designed with the latest technology. The collection will span the label’s equestrian, shooting and country lifestyle ranges.

Zara Phillips Leads Style Race at Cheltenham

**Updated** Zara Phillips has appeared at the Cheltenham Festival three times this year. The Queen’s oldest granddaughter turned heads looking every inch the Royal fashionista as she stood out from the crowd during the 4-day Gloucestershire event.

On the first day of the festival, the glamorous equestrienne opted for failsafe black, working the demure look with a trendy headband and Anya Hindmarch bag. But she did remember to show off a bolder side, adding a pair of patent lace-up heels to jazz up the elegant outfit.

On the third day of the festival, Zara came hand-in-hand with rugby player fiance Mike Tindall to watch her ex, Robert Johnson, win the opening race.

On the fourth and final day of the festival, she wore an elegant black coat and a Twenties-style cloche hat.

Zara had earlier revealed she will will not compete in the World Equestrian Games with her horse Toytown due to the animal’s injuries.

Zara Phillips & Mike Tindall’s £6,000 Bath

The Queen’s 28-year-old granddaughter and Tindall, 30, have bought a ‘Laufen Alessi One’ freestanding bath. Four delivery men struggled to carry the egg-shaped bath as they carried it into the detached property.

The couple have already spent £250,000 in renovations on their new £800,000 home in the regency town of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. The three-storey Georgian house has a large country kitchen and garden – but no stables for Zara’s 14 horses.

Zara and Mike set up home together last April. The move has fuelled rumours that they are to marry.

Christmas 2009 for the Royals

Christmas 2009 went according to tradition, with the Royal Family attending the Christmas Day service at Mary Magdalene Church, greeting people lined up in the streets to meet them, and returning to Sandringham House for lunch. The Queen’s Christmas message was then broadcast in the afternoon.

The whole family was there for the church service. Pictures show Prince William and cousin Zara Phillips linking arms, the Queen receiving flowers from children, William hugging a church regular, Zara & Autumn (visiting with husband Peter Phillips) in killer heels, plus a host of Philip Treacy hats. Security is reportedly significantly tighter this year.
